EST 2014

CAVE is a young design bureau that provides a variety

of creative services in architecture, interior, landscape, and furniture.

We like to question the origin of ideas while responding to the varying climates in which we

operate. Our design process explores the construction of systems and structures that complement the

human condition.

A return to the limitless curiosity of early man that investigates how our built and natural environment

influences the way we live and work and vice versa.

who we are

Kabage is a RIBA Chartered Architect with ten years work experience. He studied and practiced in Great Britain and then moved back to Kenya. His experience includes airport, commercial, residential, urban design and research study projects. The projects worked on span from Great Britain, Malaysia, Ukraine, North and East Africa. He is ambitious in nature and passionate about Architecture and driven to surpass client expectations.

Stella studied Architecture in Australia, and has a wealth of experience having worked for two of the largest architectural firms in Kenya. She has worked on diverse projects ranging from five star hotels, shopping malls, residential developments to schools. She is driven by one of her favourite quotes regarding the practice of architecture:

"You can avoid paintings, you can avoid music, and you can even avoid history. But good luck getting away from architecture" (Phillippe Daverio)

Balmoi's diverse upbringing contributed to his cultural identity and expression in his pro-fessional and personal life. He has always been interested in sculpture and craft, which drove his exploration of the creative arts and architecture. Having finalised his architec-tural education and training in the USA, he moved back to Kenya to build on his design acumen. Balmoi explores design thinking as a platform to customise his process in a variety of design-build models, landscape design, service design and furniture design.
