How the PSAT Test is Scores

The PSAT/NMSQT is scored as follows:

each correct answer 1 full point, regardless of level of difficulty

each unanswered question 0 points

each incorrect answer to a Student-Produced Response question 0 points

each incorrect answer to a multiple-choice question minus 1/4 point

What is an a-g GPA?

University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) use only certain classes and levels to calculate their GPA known as the a-g GPA. They only use a-g courses that have been earned during a student’s 10th and 11th grade. These grades are weighted for certain honor courses, AP courses and transferable community college courses.

The a-g GPA displayed on report cards and PowerSchool are only estimates. UC’s and CSU’s did not use + or – on gpa calculations.
