Strategic Update(1015-1025)

88

Strategic Considerations

• Our meeting today will help us finalize and organize the range of private sector demonstrations to support the Showcase, both in the parking area outside the convention center and on the roads.

• It will also help us identify gaps and additional opportunities we should pursue to round out the Showcase.

• WC Organizing Committee will meet in mid November to “lock it down”.

99

Strategic Considerations

• Our initial conversations with the US DOT help underscore that its research agenda offers a framework that will help us fill in gaps

• The New York World Congress included a number of public and private sector participants not yet engaged whose 2011 involvement would be equally valuable

• Other emergent technologies merit consideration; we are identifying and will reach out to them for a potential fit

1010

Strategic Considerations

• Over the next month, we will work with the US DOT, its partners, and others with whom we have had a prior World Congress relationship to finalize the team

Pricing Application Team

Storyboard Review(1300-1330)

5252

• What makes pricing different?– Pricing applications are real TODAY

• Many participants’ livelihood depends on pricing• They are competitors TODAY• They want to highlight their unique capabilities &

solutions• Integrated demos run counter to above

– Current competitors are reluctant to disclose ideas/plans too early or too thoroughly

Pricing Showcase Intro

5353

Pricing Application Team

• Other Potential Team Members:– List companies that you believe either may still want to

demonstrate but are not yet defined in this storyboard AND those that you think should be involved. Be prepared to discuss conversations you have had with each.

– Logical U.S./N.A. participants are either involved, informed or unresponsive. Unlikely that European or Asian participants will emerge (some are doing exhibits but no expressed interest in demonstrations).

5454

Pricing Application Team

• Current Team Members:– List the companies involved in the application team demonstrations

(only list those that are involved in this storyboard.– # private companies involved

• Kapsch, TransCore, Federal Signal, Battelle (with MnDOT), ACS/Xerox, SwRI, MarkIV, Alcatel/Lucent?, IBM?

to a central repository (TOC)– GPS and LTE equipped vehicle interacts with central

repository to deposit its location and collect intersection and sensor updates.

– Vehicle’s “green electronic brain” is programmed to manage energy usage, braking and acceleration

– Attendee will experience vehicle reactions, in-vehicle monitoring, and pavilion monitoring of situations, as well as well as increases in energy efficiency.

Straight drive through 1 or 2 simple square intersectionsThe intersections to be located as far as possible one from the other.

Straight drive through 2 signalized intersections with a turning route at each end
