The English Reformation

The Pope said no! He got The Archbishop of Canterbury to grant

the annulment

Henry VIII was excommunicated

He declared himself head of the Church of England or the Anglican Church

Only supported English nobles that supported his cause!

Arrested many Protestants and burn ~300 people at the stake

They also started the Spanish Inquisition– a court to investigate cases of heresy (very cruel)
