Think of: pumps that move water for heating and domestic use. Since several years being replaced with “variable speed pumps”

• Next class will address more in detail but:– Energy savings (some hotels go 100% CFL’s)– Occupancy sensors

• What is your back up plan (what functions will you lose? How can you continue to operate for 2 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 5 days)

• Back up power?

• Back up generator, important. What functions would you connect to it? (example discussion Hotel Jay)

Stowe Mountain Lodge

• Back up generator covers:– All compressors (AC)– Kitchen hood and make up air unit– Heat and domestic hot water boilers– Critical water circulation pumps– Egress lighting– All life safety equipment (fire panel, fire pump)– Computer room (front desk computers etc)– Some time clocks for HVAC– Electronic key system – Pool pumps
