Founded in 1959

Located in Mengla country Xishuangbanna at 21º55' N, 101º15'E

Covers an area of 1125 Hectares

Over 13,000 species of tropical plants are preserved in its 35 living collections.

Aquatic Plant Collection

The Aquatic Plant Collection covers an area of 1.2Hectares Provides home to over 100 species of aquatic plantsincluding floating plants, emerged plants, errantia plants,submerged plants and wetland plants.

The Cycad Collection

Belonging to a group of remnant seed plants which are called living fossils. Great importance for study on paleoclimate, paleogeography and floraevolution Almost all cycads have been listed as key protected plants.

Vine Garden

Covers an area of 7.3 hectares with more than400 vine species.

Garden is divided into 4 display sections, includingornamental vines, nature ecology vines, populationvine, and hanging vine.

Distinctive Plant Collection

Occupies an area of 0.8 hectares

The Distinctive Plant Collection is home to 256kinds of tropical rare and exotic flowers and trees.

Visitors can have a taste at the ‘miracle fruit’(Synsepaium dulcificum) which can turn your tasteand feel sourness as sweetness.

The Garden for Energy Plants

Covers an area of 13 acres.

The garden comprises of 5 functional parts whichcollected plants for firewood, starch, textile, oil andhydrocarbon.

Tropical Rain Forest

Occupies an area of 80 hectares

Divided into seven parts, including gingercollection, aroid collection, orchid collection, ferncollection, and wild flower garden etc..

Harbored more than 2000 species, including morethan 100 rare and endangered species.

Green Stone Forest

The Green Stone Forest is home to a lush limestone seasonal rain-forest.

Encompassing a great diversity of habitat and topography, the forest is home tomore than 1,000 vascular plant species and a wide array wildlife.

Huge leafless orchid

The place to see an orchid higher than a man

A population of huge leafless orchid, Aphyllorchiscaudate, was amazingly found here.

The population is composed of more than 100individuals. The tallest individual reaches 1.97meters, much higher than what is described in Floraof China.

Flower Garden

Located at the main entrance of XTBG, Flower Gardencovers an area of 25 hectares

Has a collection of 600 species and varieties of tropicalflowers.

An integrative garden incorporating landscaping,horticultural display, public education, speciesconservation and recreation as well.

National Trees and Flowers Collection

Most countries in the world have their own nationaltrees and flowers.

They are the symbol of a country and reflecting eachcountry’s culture, spirit, value as well asaethesticstandard.

Wild Elephant Sanctuary

Meet some of the last wild Asian elephants in China.

Manfeilong

A Buddhist temple also known as the White Pagoda orthe Bamboo Shoot Pagoda due to its nine slender stupasis one of the most favorite Yunnan attractions located inthe area.
