Enhancing WB-CSOs relations in China

1, WB is one of the close partners with Chinese CSOs among International organizations.

2, WB China Office has specific financial resource to support CSO innovation programmes on poverty reduction.

3, WB has advantage in knowledge sharing and community-driven development programme in national level.

Constraints

1, Grassroots CSOs hard to get support from WB, lack of access to WB information, WB lack of engagement with CSOs.

2, There is no a long term policy and strategy to engage and promote the development of CSOs in China.

Possible concrete actions/next steps

1, to make a long term action policy and strategies enhancing WB-CSOs relations in China, to improve the CSOs situation in China.

2, to develop a series of knowledge development programme for strengthening the capacity builing of CSOs, such as hosting regular WB- China CSOs Emgagement Workshops every year, encourage grassroots NGOs involving in WB’s activities both in country-level and regional level.

3, to improve the communication channel between WB and CSOs in local level.
