A country of rules Saudi Arabia is a Muslim country in which

Islamic law is strictly enforced. No other religion is permitted.

Muslims are called to prayer five times a day. All shops close and everyone prays for about thirty minutes.

People frequently wear their national costume and women must cover up when out in public.

Women are not allowed to drive

There is no alcohol allowed in the Kingdom. Anyone found smuggling it in will be put in prison.

Muslims don’t eat pork and therefore it is also banned.

The King rules the country and what he says, goes!

Saudi Arabia has 20% of the worlds oil and this means the country is very important to all nations around the world.

During the holy month of Ramadan people are not allowed to eat or drink during daylight hours.

Single people are not allowed to mix with the opposite genders.

Restaurants have two sides, one for families and one for single men.

•There is no gambling allowed.

The internet and TV is constantly monitored by authorities.

Saudi people are very private people and often live in houses with high walls around them.

Guess what days the weekends are?

Thursday and Friday! Friday is the holy day.

Imagine going to school on Saturday and Sundays! Ahh..
