Saint-Petersburg is the city of Russia. It is one of the most beautiful cities in our country!

In 1897, 1.264.920 people lived in Saint-Petersburg.

In 2013, 5.028.313 people live in Saint-Petersburg.

There were wooden and stone bridges, beautiful buildings, magnificent palaces.

It was a very busy town with lots of people but no cars. People travelled on horses.

There were hotels, post offices, restaurants and others. The first hotels appeared in the 19 century.

Children went to school.

In 1897, there were about 35 children at «Zemskaya» school.

Now we can see 67 metro stations. But the first plan of St. Petersburg metro was designed in the 19 century.
