Colorado is well known for its breathtaking scenery, so it’s only natural that it has some great hiking trails. Below are just a few top hiking spots near Denver:

1. Alderfer/Three Sisters Park: Located roughly 40 minutes from the city, the park features more than 10 miles of trails and is popular among hikers and mountain bikers. Most trails fall within the one-half to two-mile range and are great for hikers looking to get away from the city for a couple of hours.

Hiking Spots 2. Chicago Lakes Trail: Many people have seen the

Chicago Lakes while driving along Highway 5, but there is also a popular hiking trail that goes around the two bodies of water. Both horses and dogs are welcome on the trail, which spans about 10 miles round-trip and features great views of the lakes. The hiking spot is only about one hour from Denver.

3. Herman Gulch: Also roughly an hour outside of Denver, the Herman Gulch trailhead is just off I-70. The full hike takes a few hours and is good for both hikers looking to relax and those seeking a challenge.
