How to reach Manali?
By Air
The nearest airport is at Bhuntar, located approximately 50 kilometres away from Manali. Domestic flights
connect Bhuntar with Delhi and Chandigarh. Once at the airport, you can take a pre-paid taxi to Manali.
However, owing to weather conditions, flights are not the most reliable option for getting to or out of
Manali.
By Bus
Manali is very well-connected to important tourist destinations like Leh, Shimla, Kullu, Dharamshala and
New Delhi by means of a network of state-run as well as private buses. The bus journey from Delhi to
Manali is 550 kilometres, and it is advisable to book your tickets in the air-conditioned Volvo coaches, as
the buses are more comfortable than ordinary ones, keeping in mind the long distance of the journey.
Things to do in Manali
Explore your adventurous side in Solang Valley
Located around 14 kms from Manali, this strikingly beautiful valley is popular for adventure sports
like paragliding, parachuting and skiing. Solang valley also offers stunning panromic view of snow
capped mountain peaks and glaciers. Especially famous for skiing, the valley becomes a paradise
for skiers and snowboarders in winters. There are also many trails all around for the less
adventurous.
Walk up to Hidimba Temple
Surrounded by towering Pine trees this stone and wood temple was built in 1553 AD by Raja
Bahadur Singh and is dedicated to Hidimba Devi, the wife of Bhima, one of the Pandavas from the
Indian Mythology, Mahabharata. You will be allured to see the amazing stone carvings that depict
local deities, plants and various animals at Hidimba Devi Temple. Although open throughout the
year yet the best time to visit the temple is in the month of May when a three day fair is organised
in memory of Maharaja Bahadur singh.

At an elevation of 3,978mts, Rohtang Pass is gateway to Lahaul Spiti, Pang and Leh valley. Rohtang
Pass promises mesmerising view of snow capped mountains and lush green forests. The best time
to visit Rohtang is from May-October. In winters snowfall adds to the charm of this beautiful place
