This trip encompasses the most serene and historically rich locales for sightseeing pleasure. The
itinerary will afford you enchanting destinations-such as a viewing the awe inspiring city of
Mandalay, atop Mandalay Hill, as the Irrawaddy River carves its beauty into the landscape-a literal
lifeline for Burmese-providing not only trade routes, but fish or nga, a staple in our country. And at
the end of trip, from the quiet, sandy beaches of Ngapali, where the sway of the palms and ocean
breeze will lull you into another realm; to the ancient temples of Bagan, where the sunrises and
sunsets literally hush the magical landscape.
TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1: Yangon - Arrival
Arrival at Yangon International Airport where you will be welcomed by our guide and transferred to
hotel. Free time at leisure on your own. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon
Today is devoted to city tour in Yangon. In the morning, we will visit Shwedagon Pagoda, the world
famous golden stupa that dominates the Yangon skyline. Walking tour in the heart of Yangon, where
we will observe various architectures, and have opportunities to take photographs of Burma’s
Capital. Afternoon sightseeing includes visit to Bogyoke Market where local merchants offer
Myanmar traditional silks, cotton, paintings, tapestries, handicrafts, silverware, lacquer ware,
national dress & ethnic fashions, gems & jewelry. Visit Kandawgyi Park and dinner at Karaweik Palace
restaurant while enjoying a traditional Myanmar dance and music. Overnight in Yangon (B, D)
Day 3: Yangon - Bagan - Mt. Popa
Morning short flight to Bagan, the first and most beautiful capital of Myanmar. After arrival, we will
visit to Nyaung Oo Typical market. Then, we will drive for an hour to Mt. Popa (4981 ft), an extinct
volcano, with temperate weather and lush green landscape. Afternoon, we will visit the villages
around the area. Overnight in Popa (B).
Day 4: Mt. Popa - Bagan
On the way back to Bagan, we will observe the agrarian lifestyle of this region farmers extracting
palm juice from palm trees and making a local favorite candy. Today visit Bagan including Shwezigon
pagoda, an extraordinary example of the early style of the Myanmar stupa; Htilo Minlo - a temple
that is famed for its intricate carvings; Wetgyi-In Gu Byauk Gyi possess many fine mural paintings.
After lunch we will proceed to the work place of handmade lacquer ware, and observe the detailed
process of the making of Myanmar lacquer ware& its products. Then time to visit Dhamayangyi
temple, Anada temple, Thatbyinnyu temple and Shwesandaw Pagoda. End of your day with an hour
boat trip along Ayarwaddy River affords inspiring views of the brick-hued pagodas and temples of
sunset. Overnight in Bagan (B).
Day 5: Bagan - Mandalay
Today fly into Mandalay. Upon arrival, we will visit Amarapura, a 18th century capital of Myanmar,
Maha Gandayon Monastery and observe the daily meal of over a thousand monks at the country's
largest Monastery. Next is a short drive to the famed U Bein Bridge; a 159 year old teak wood bridge-
the longest teak bridge in the world. Afternoon, visits to Maha Muni, Zay Cho Market, Tapestry
workshop, Shwenandaw Monastery, and Mandalay Hill where you enjoy the magnificent landscape
over the city from this vantage point. Overnight in Mandalay (B).
Day 6: Mandalay - Mingun - Saggaing
Transfer to the jetty for an hour boat excursion to Mingun village. Mingun stands on the bank of
Ayarwaddy River and is 11 km away from Mandalay. We will observe bamboo rafts, birds, farms,
locals fishing on small boats, and see how the people earn a living to support their families, and how
they also enjoy their lifestyle. Arrive in Mingun, disembark and proceed to visit Mya Thein Dan Zedi
that was built by the King of Saggaing, as memorial for his beloved wife (and late queen) who passed
away one week after giving birth to their son. After visiting Mingun Bell, cruise back Mandalay and
then drive to Saggaing with visits to Saggaing hill that is regarded as the religious center of Myanmar.
Next, wecontinue to the base of Saggaing and see a home for nuns and their life where we will seek
permission from the chief nun to observe the daily work of these religious women. Overnight in
Mandalay (B).
Day 7: Mandalay- Heho - Inle Lake
Morning fly to Heho, After arrival Heho, we will drive to Kakku via Taunggyi that is the capital of
southern Shan State. En route, we will visit to a Pa-O village and observe their lifestyle. Kakku that
was recently opened to foreigners-has an amazing 2548 pagodas built on very small area, and is rich
in architectural value. Proceed to Nyaung Shwe (approximately 2 hour drive). Upon arrival in Nyaung
Shwe we will board a boat that will take us to a stunning hotel that has a great vantage point for
some of the best sunsets in the region. Overnight in Inle Lake (B).
Day 8: Inle Lake
Today visit Inle Lake where includes 64 villages and their inhabitants who reside on the lake in their
homes that rest high above the water. Visit a local colorful market where many hill tribes trading
their farm products of vegetables, fruits, sun dried tea leaves, art, works of wooden sculpture with
their unique style in a bustling atmosphere. Then visit Ywama village, floating gardens, a traditional
weaving mill for Intha-textiles, silk weaving workshops; Nampan village we will observe how Burmese
Cheroots are produced primarily by young ladies using traditional methods. After lunch, we will go
back to hotel relaxing and enjoy sunset from balcony at hotel. Overnight in Inle Lake (B).
Day 9: Heho/ Thandwe - Ngapali Beach
Transfer to airport to Thandwe flight. Arrive in Ngapali Beach and enjoy couple of days unwind at the
beach relaxing and soaking up the beautiful scenery. Overnight at Ngapali Beach (B).
Day 10: Ngapali Beach
A boat excursion to Private Island. Beach relaxing and snorkeling. Then enjoy a BBQ lunch which
prepared by boat team, you will have Arakanese home cook egg plant curry, fresh coconut juice and
beer. After lunch, we will come back to Ngapali Beach. The rest of day is at leisure on your own.
Overnight at Ngapali Beach (B, L).
Day 11: Ngapali Beach
After breakfast, morning walk about 20 min to fishing village nearby, chance to observe about local
living ways. Then, we will walk to the main road of Ngapali village passing through the local homes,
speaking with children play in front of their houses. Riding Tri-shaw or bicycle and back to hotel. Time
for relaxing on the beach, swimming, reading. Overnight at Ngapali Beach (B).
Day 12: Thandwe - Yangon
At leisure until transfer to Thandwe airport and transport to hotel upon your arrival in Yangon.
Overnight in Yangon (B).
Day 13: Yangon- Departure
At leisure until transfer to Yangon airport for departure flight home or to next destination (B).
