Geography about London

• London is the capital of England which is in Europe. Its biggest river is River Thames. It is 346 km long. It is the ninth largest city in the world and the largest in Europe. London gets 13 and a half million visitors every year. London has hosted the olympics 3 times after last year.

Physical and human features

• The main physical feature in London is the River Thames which runs through the centre of the city.

• Buckingham palace is man made and the queen lives there, there is approximately 900,000 square feet of floor space.

• Big Ben is also man made, the tower is 96.31 metres tall and it was built in 1858.

The London eye was opened by Tony Blair, in December 1999. It is only the main merry go round in London. The London eye is the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom.
