LARGE COMPANIES AND STRATEGIC SECTORS UNIT AT GENERAL

DIRECTORATE OF IMMIGRATION – MINISTRY OF LABOR (Fast track process)

Spanish companies can benefit from this process in the following situations:

a) Top Managers or highly skilled employees if the Spanish company meets

one of these requirements:

o Average of 500 employees in Spanish payroll (according to Social

Security) during last 3 months prior to work permit application

submission.

o Last year turn over in Spain over 200 million €.

o Net assets in Spain over 100 million €.

o Average foreign investment of at least 1 million € during last 3

years prior to work permit application.

o Area of activity of the company in Spain is one of these: IT,

renewable energy, environment protection, water and its treatment,

health sciences, biopharma and biotechnology, and aeronautics.

o Other strategic sectors not listed above: Secretary of State for

Migration will decide, prior positive report of competent Ministry or

Regional Authority ,if company can qualify.

b) Highly qualified technicians or scientists hired by public organisms (State, local)

c) University lecturers to be hired by a Spanish University.

d) Highly qualified technicians or scientists for research to well known Universities

or Research Centers, or for R+D Departments of companies.

e) Well known artists or artists and technicians taking part in an international

project culturally relevant.

f) Highly qualified employees and Top Managers that take part in a project

considered (and evidenced) of public interest, based on the following

criteria:

o Significant increase of job positions created in the sector or

geographical area where the project will take place.

o Extraordinary investment with impact socioeconomically, relevant

in the geographical area.

o Relevant scientific or technological innovation

-Local hires Blue Card

-Transnational work permits

-Residence and Work for Research

-Short term work permits for artists
