ABOUT CHINAChina, with a recorded history of

5,000 years, was one of the world’s earliest civilizations.

China was one of the countries where economic activity first developed. As early as 5,000 to 6,000 years ago, people in the Yellow River valley had already started farming and raising livestock.

In the 21st century B.C., China established a slave society with the founding of the Xia Dynasty, thereby writing a finale to long years of primitive society. The People’s Republic of China was founded on October 1st,1949.

Physical featuresThe vast land expanses of China include plateaus, plains, basins,

foothills, and mountains.

Rugged plateaus, foothills, and mountains occupy nearly two-thirds of the land.

This higher elevation in the West and lower in the East resembles a 4-step ladder.

China lies between latitudes 18° and 54° N, and longitudes 73° and 135° E.

In the east, along the shores of the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea, there are extensive and densely populated alluvial plains, while on the edges of the Inner Mongolian plateau in the north, broad grasslands predominate.

POLITICAL FEATURESThe politics of the People's

Republic of China takes places in a framework of a socialist republic run by a single party, the Communist Party of China.

The leadership of the Communist Party is stated in the Constitution of the People's Republic of China.

State power within the People's Republic of China (PRC) is exercised through the Communist Party, the Central People's Government and their provincial and local representation.

As the most populous country in the world and third largest in area, China also has the largest number of neighbours (14) sharing its 22,000km land borders namely: North Korea (KP), Russia (RU), Mongolia (MN), Kazakhstan (KZ), Kyrgyzstan (KG), Tajikistan (TJ), Afghanistan (AF), Pakistan (PK), India (IN), Nepal (NP), Bhutan (BT), Myanmar (MM), Laos (LA) and Vietnam (VN).

NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES

How To Reach China China, the second largest economy in the world, is well

connected to different cities across the globe via air. With availability of several flights from Delhi and Mumbai to

the major cities of China, like Beijing and Shanghai, it becomes convenient for the people to reach China.

It takes around 6 hours to reach Beijing and around 7 hours to reach Shanghai from New Delhi, whereas from Mumbai it takes an hour longer.

There are international rail services, named Trans-Mongolian and Trans-Manchurian Railway, from Moscow to Beijing which is operated once a week and takes around half a week to cover the distance.

Several other train services are there within the country, making travelling convenient for the tourists.

Along with airways and railways, ferries and boats further ease the woes about how to reach China from different destination.

Shanghai, Qingdao and Tianjin are the famous stop-off points with various major cruise companies offering cruises to these ports.

THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA One of the iconic symbols of

China, the Great Wall is the longest wall in the world, an awe-inspiring feat of ancient defensive architecture.

Its winding path over rugged country and steep mountains takes in some great scenery.

It deserves its place among "the New Seven Wonders of the World" and the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in China.

THE FORBIDDEN CITY IN BEIJING It was once a "palace city" where

ordinary people were forbidden entry. An extravagant demonstration of

ancient Chinese architecture, over 8,000 rooms with golden roofs are elegantly designed and painted in red and yellow.

The Forbidden City was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties for 560 years till 1911. 24 emperors lived there.

World Cultural Heritage, and now known as ‘the Palace Museum' among Chinese, it is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics.

It is recognized as one of the five most important palaces in the world.

The Yellow Mountains — a Top National Park

In east China, close to Shanghai and Hangzhou, Yellow Mountain Scenic Area woos travelers with its five wonders: sun rises, seas of clouds, oddly-shaped rocks, twisted pine trees, and hot springs.

The Yellow Mountains are the most famous peaks in China, and one of China's three best national parks — the other two being Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Jiuzhaigou National Forest Park.

The Bund, Shanghai — International Architecture

The Bund is one of the most recognizable architectural symbols of Shanghai.

It showcases the world with its colonial European buildings and skyscrapers the other side of the Huangpu, housing one of the world's foremost business districts.

West Lake in guangzhou — Paradise on Earth

Hangzhou is renowned as China's "paradise on earth" owing to its beautifully crafted landscape.

West Lake was created after the Chinese love for garden-style parks for recreation.

West Lake is a place of tranquility where urbanity becomes a silhouette on the northeast horizon and mountains near and far surround it on the other three sides.

Victoria Harbor — Here is Hong Kong! The view over Victoria

Harbour from Victoria Peak is to Hong Kong as climbing the Great Wall is to China; it offers the iconic outlook over Hong Kong's "high rise" to success and prosperity.

Victoria Peak is the best spot to have a bird's eye view of Hong Kong. Viewed from the peak, both day and night scenes are worth taking in.

See high-rise buildings round the busy Victoria Harbour stretching out towards Mainland China.

The Li River in Guilin — Watery Wonder The karst landscape along

the Li River has captured the heart of artists.

Generations of Chinese painters and poets have been inspired by the beauty of nature there, using their pens and brushes to capture the breath-taking natural scenery.

Nowadays it's a popular photography destination.

The river landscape is decorated with startling hills, steep cliffs, and farming villages, and is lined with bamboo groves.

The Li River was listed as one of the "World’s Top Ten Watery Wonders” by America’s National Geographic Magazine.

The Yangtze River known in China as the Chang Jiang or the Yangzi, is the longest river in Asia and the third-longest in the world.

It flows for 6,300 kilometers (3,915 mi) from the glaciers on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in Qinghai eastward across southwest, central and eastern China before emptying into the East China Sea at Shanghai.

In 1987 it became World Cultural Heritage.

First, the status of ancillary service development in China is introduced, and then specific issues are analyzed in depth.

Finally, feasible policy recommendations for the issues are proposed.

This study has important and practical implications for the development of ancillary services in China.

REEP - Ancillary services in China Ea Energy Analyses and China Electric Power Research

Institute (CEPRI) conducted a study on ancillary services and standard disation of grid connection for integrating renewable energy into smart grid in China.

The objective of this project was to investigate
