The design of the Bushnell Powerview Compact Folding Roof Prism Astronomy is really beautiful.

Worth? I must say, yes!

The overall performance of Binoculars is greatly affected by the quality of their lenses as they directly affect the clarity of view. The science behind this is rather simple. With lenses of a larger aperture, that is, bigger diameter, the binoculars manage to capture more light and render clearer images.

The Bushnell PowerView Compact binoculars come equipped with a competent 32 mm lens allowing users a fairly respectable field of view and an ability to clearly see tiny objects.

Prisms are used in binoculars to upend the image coming through the lens which would otherwise be rendered upside down. Typically, budget priced binoculars make use of Porro prisms that are not very good at rendering upright and stable images.

Q: Can the string be removed without cutting it?A: It looks like you would have to take them apart in order to remove the string. looks too risky yo me.

I recently purchased 4 different pairs of binoculars to try out for a camp nature center. (It was easier than trying to get to our "local" Gander Mountain - 90 miles away). All were about $30, and these are definitely my favorite. These were the only compact pair that I tried, which was the winning feature. They're small enough not to take up a lot of space in a backpack, and to my eye the optics are great and the focus is easy. I'm going to get a bunch more!
