This island, located in Table Bay, holds a huge significance in the history of South Africa. It was used as a prison base during the apartheid era in the country and has held Nelson Mandela for a long 17 years. Though a controversial spot in South Africa, this island has every ingredient of a beautiful spot.
4. Garden Route
Seldom will you come across a highway road or a route to be even considered as a tourist attraction, but when you take the top gear while on the Garden Route, you will realize why it is so much popular. This 200 kms ‘paradise stretch’ is marked with a series of stellar views combining mountains, beaches, rocky shores, palm fringe lanes, and more.
5. Boulders Beach
There are white sandy beaches, palm fringe beaches, secluded open beaches, and then there are beaches formed by huge granite boulders; that’s exactly what you get to witness in Cape Town. 7. Lion’s Head
Another mesmerizing spot in the city of Cape Town, the Lion’s Head is a tall 2,195 feet mountain with a top that reflects the shape of a lion’s head. It forms an extended part of the table mountain range and showcase a brilliant view of the city in the backdrop.
8. Cango Caves
Make the most of your weekend off during your volunteer work in Port Elizabeth with wildlife at the national park and visit this amazing and intriguing part of Oudtshoorn town. Located at the foothills of Swartberg range, these caves are over 20 million years old and makes an important part of South African culture.
9. Constantia
At around 15kms south of mainland Cape Town, is this aristocratic suburb of Constantia. Known for its huge and plush vineyards, this suburb is one of the oldest in South Africa and portrays a stellar view.
