The Rotary Foundation believes the Future Vision Areas of Focus reflect critical humanitarian issues and needs that Rotarians are addressing worldwide. They will align Rotary with other international development efforts and will strategically further the Foundation's mission. Water and Sanitation, Basic Education and Literacy and Economic and Community Development are three of the six goals of The Rotaryand Economic and Community Development are three of the six goals of The Rotary Foundation Future Vision. We have a project that makes an impact on all of these.

We live in a dry country but often take our access to water for granted. Just turn the tap and high quality, safe drinking water is delivered (so long as you paid the bill) for drinking, washing and even just to water the grass.

Now imagine you live in another place. You are a child, especially a girl child. The water source for your family is kilometres away. It is your task to walk there collect the water usually in 25 litre container and carry it home. That water maybe dirty, not necessarily good for your health and you face the hazards of predators of all types on the waythe way.

Add to this, while you are busy collecting water for survival of your family, you may not be able to attend school. Another thing that we may take for granted in our own circumstances.

I now have pledges from four clubs (including Booragoon) totalling $7067 and therefore still seeking $9,500 in order to make this project possible. To achieve this goal I need to raise most of these funds within February to complete the matching grant before they are cut off for this year in March.

I would like to seek support from the Rotary Club of ______________ to assist in making this project a success. A pledge to support the project of any value would help us towards achievement of this goal.
