DESCRIPTION

Laser Scanning is a Process, not a point cloud. With every project, Autodesk ReCap and Laser Scanning provides work flows to support traditional processes with time saving information, and exposes countless new ones on nearly every project. This class will demonstrate several different examples of what you can do with Laser Scan data in ReCap and Autodesk Products. We will demonstrate examples of using Laser Scan data in 2D and 3D processes, emerging ideas of using Scan data like CAD Data and amazing ways to extract and share views you may have not considered.

Processing the Point Cloud

Autodesk ReCap is my tool of choice for cleaning and preparing data for my customer.

Why:

• Common format in CAD Tools

• Faro files and ReCap are nearly seamless.

• Works with multiple scanner types.

• Can be used with any registered data.

• Work with Point Cloud data the way you want.

• Create Point Clouds files based exactly on CAD data.

Be Aware-AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD 2015 generate different DWF files due to change in ReCap display engine.

Clarity and Quantity of Points displayed in AutoCAD 2015 are dramatically more dense than 2014
