The use of red and black, connotes danger. Letting the audience known before they have even seen the trailer that it is a horror film.

The fact that the films release date is on Friday the 13th connotes that it is a horror film as Friday the 13th is known as ‘bad luck day’

They’ve chosen the tagline ‘It will take what you love the most’ with an image of a mother clutching her 2 sons, this connotes that the mother looses her children.

They’ve rated the film PG-13, this denotes that the film is suitable for all ages but parental guidance is suggested for children under 13

The look on the mothers face looks terrified this adds to the scariness of the film, which signifies that its going to be a scary film.

The hammer connotes that she’s fighting something off, making the film seem violent.

Only the letters SI and 2 have been highlighted in red the rest of the title is in white

The way she is clutching onto her children connotes that she will fight to the death for them

Poster

The film credits are typically placed at the bottom of the poster, however I think putting them at the top makes the image stand out more as there is nothing obstructing it, like if the credits were at the bottom

The shadow behind her, signifies that someone is following them

They’ve included the 3 main colours used in the insidious poster Red, black and white. All of which are bold colours, making it stand out, but still in fitting into the horror genre

The website gives the audience an option to share the page this is a good use of viral marketing as it makes the film well know.

The website gives the audience an option to buy tickets and check show times this makes it easy for the audience to get tickets if they like the trailers and promotions on the website.

They’ve put the films age rating on the website, to make it obvious as soon as you enter the website that it is not suitable for children of a certain age.

They have 3 possible doors you can click on, that take you to different pages to do with the film.The doors are blue, green and red, all three colours have different meanings. The colour red is associated with will power rage and anger, while green is associated with ambition greed and jealousy and blue represents knowledge and power

It reminds you of a place that you don’t want to be going into late at night.

The page immediately says “Get instant updates on #insidious” this makes people follow the insidious twitter page to get updates on the characters, film releases etc.

It shows you the results for #insidious and all of the other people that are talking about it.

They have a link to the trailer, making it easy for people on the page to watch it and see what the film is about and when it is going to be released.

They’ve added photos and videos to the sight

The site shows people who visit it, that the page has over 3 million likes

They’re advertising that the film is now out on DVD, on the Facebook webpage

Tumblr

They’ve added photos, videos and quotes from the film to the sight

The social networking site has links to other social networking sites to do with the same film

When you click on the YouTube link on the website it takes you to the ‘FilmDistrict’ YouTube page. Where the trailer was first put on YouTube

It has a clear subscribe button, making it easy for the viewer to subscribe.

They’ve included links to Facebook and twitter, making it easy to share the videos

They’ve added an official site sticker to the page, so viewers know that they are watching the trailers on an official site, so they’re the real ones

It shows the amount of subscribers the channel has, this channel has 3,427, which if you think about it isn’t that many, maybe making it a bad place to advertise the trailer

You can easily access all of the users previous video uploads. Making it easy to watch other videos and trailers.

They’ve used the skyline to promote new films. This is a good promotion tool and it is the first thing the viewer sees when going onto the page.

GetGlueThey’ve put the company logo at the top left hand corner of the page, this is a clear space which is easily seen when someone enters the site

They’ve included a guide, to shows you how to use the website and how to organise your film, TV shows and sports. It shows you how to organise and add your favourites to the guide

You can easily find where to login and how to sign up if you are not already a member

They’ve joined social networking sites by putting a link to Facebook on the GetGlued site. It allows you to login using Facebook without creating a GetGlued account, however by ding this you are allowing GetGlued to post information about the site on your Facebook page.

They’ve added an easy ‘check-in’ button so you can quickly login and see if you have unlocked the sticker

They’ve included an INSIDIOUS 2 sticker for GetGlued members only

The feed has articles about TV shows, films and sports

The advert on the side is for the chance to win a car, this connotes that the people that are subscribed to this website are …………..

They have the major social networking sites links, making it easy for the viewer to click on them and be taken to the fandango twitter account, so they can follow them and the Facebook fan page so they can like it and there google plus account.

They’ve got a brief description of the film including, the release date, length, age rating and a brief description of the film

They’ve got a search link, to make it easy for users to find viewings of the film and where to get times and tickets.

When you click onto the page from the insidious 2 website it clearly advertises the film, with an image of the film poster and the films trailer They’ve got a massive

link to current offers that they’re offering, making it impossible for viewers to miss, with bright orange button. Orange is known to have high visibility making it the perfect colour to catch someone's attention

They’ve placed the company logo on the top left hand corner of the page making it one of the first things you see when you enter the site.

The site has a search engine to find theatres and movie times, making it easy for the user to book tickets

They have a clear button at the top of the site, advertising gift cards, by placing the link at the top of the page, it makes it virtually impossible to miss

There's the option to change the language on the site to Spanish, this adheres to the needs of internationally users

They’ve placed a link on the tool bar to the sites offers, this brings in customers, as everyone wants to look for the cheapest deals.

They’ve got a clear sign in button with a join link next to it.
