Stirling is a world expert in aeroelastic
analysis. We provide a full range of
capabilities from concept design to
certification clearance in both civil and
military sectors covering both fixed and
rotary wing aircraft.
These activities are supported using
industry standard simulation tools such as
NASTRAN, StarCCM+, LMS, ADAMS and
Matlab/Simulink/SimMechanics together
with our specialist in-house tools.

Stirling offers expertise in flutter certification. We cover
a full range of capabilities from model build to flutter
certification support and clearance for civil and military
aircraft.
Stirling provides flutter analysis using industry
standard tools and our own in-house tool set.
We are experienced in helping our customers to clear
new aircraft designs and aircraft modifications through
EASA, FAA and military standards.
Stirling holds CVE status for aircraft flutter
clearances under EASA Part 21J.

Stirling is a recognised industry leader in loads
generation for aircraft design. We have provided
whole aircraft and component loads for new and
modification upgrade programmes, including novel
designs.
We are experienced in calculating static, dynamic and
fatigue loads, covering flight loads in response to gust
and manoeuvre, and ground loads resulting from
ground manoeuvres, take off and landing.
Our engineers have an impressive knowledge of
EASA, FAA and military standards – including
standards for new and supplemental certification.

Stirling provides Computational Fluid Dynamics
(CFD) expertise and analysis using Star CCM+
for both internal and external flows. Our CFD
experience spans both aircraft and marine
applications.
Our CFD expertise supports and complements
the design process. Stirling’s extensive toolset
enables our engineers to generate and
interpret the aerodynamic database providing
design confidence, covering modification and
new design concepts.

Stirling offers a highly capable stressing service for
metal and composite structures that includes
classical analysis, FE modelling & analysis for static
stress, and fatigue & damage tolerance
assessments.
We provide stress analysis for design, production
and post-production support to aircraft OEMs.
Additionally we support modifications, covering
conversions, repairs and MROs support.

Flight control has been a core capability from the
founding of the company and is the primary basis for our
overall control system activities. We have provided flight
control system (FCS) analysis and design support to the
aerospace industry for over 25 years and are

tools to calculate performance characteristics for both
fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

Stirling’s aerospace engineering experience has been built up over many years and we have
faced many different engineering challenges presented to us by aircraft manufacturers. The future
