DESCRIPTION

Social networks such as Facebook and Twitter have become omnipresent, but how are they handling privacy? Are there "better" social networks out there in terms of handling personal information - such as Google+, more popular than Facebook in the hacker scene? Is there new land on the horizon with networking apps such as Snapchat? During Newline 2013 at the Hackerspace Ghent (0x20), we discussed about what the participants define as "social media privacy". The discussion crystallized on data collection, data mining, advertising and personal privacy. This presentation was the kickstarter: enjoy.
