There is large amount of data coming in especially during major events like the elections.

Citizen Journalism has contributed to this upsurge in data and they are mostly curated on the internet.

How do we sort through the data , in this case (images, audio, video and text) and verify their accuracy?

How do we make it accessible to journalists, (the public and officials) in Nigeria even all around the world needing verified and accurate data covering the elections?

We realised that during elections, there are concerns with information being relayed. How accurate is the information? Is it fair to all parties involved? How do we check the authenticity of information – attribution to a recognised name, face and preferably geographical location (address), and Newsworthiness: is the information really newsworthy? How do we solve this?

An application that geotags uploaded information by registered users on location and interfaces with a website.

An application that auto verifies the accuracy of data within a short time frame.

All data coming in concerning the election (pre, during and post) will be accurate based on the ability of to verify the data and make it available. There will also be live reports and this can be used to monitor coverage of the elections. All data coming in will be geo-tagged. They will be tagged so it will be easy to find data related to that event.

Social media updates tailored to the coverage of the elections will be streamed live.

The data from can be curated and visualized using google trends e.g voters registration, political campaigns, results.

Visualization on site can embedded into news sites.

News stories can be generated from the data e.g. Comparing the numbers of information on voter’s registration to votes that are counted at that particular location
