Micro technology requires highly precise instruments to ensure operation and reliability. • A widely circulated story holds that the word gadget was invented when Gaget, Gauthier & Cie company made a small-scale version of the Statue of Liberty in 1886 and named it after their firm. Yet the word became popular only after World War I.

Smallest Helicopter

GEN H-4 is a personal helicopter tested in Italy and now is available on sale for $53,000. It's twin counter-rotating propellers cancel out the torque that requires single-rotor helicopters to have a perpendicular tail rotor. It has four small twin cylinder engines feeding into a central transmission with two sets of rotors turning in opposite directions.
