Research and PlanningMy skills have developed massively since I first started the course, using Photoshop has improved, as well as

Indesign, I’ve learnt a lot from these two programs and I have improved my work by using these. There has been a lot of benefits from using these programs for my work, I’ve learnt how to change formats of pictures, I’ve learnt how to edit the pictures and drag them all on to the same page and change the size, perfectly how I want it to be. My skills have progressed so much since I did my prelim task, the images are better, the contents is better and the fonts are so much, this is from after using dafont.com, also the whole layout is better the setting it out is a lot better, in my magazine now everything lines up with one or another. I think from having research on magazines that I like, it has helped me massively to make my own magazine, this is because I used those magazines to help me make my own, I used there layouts and there font styles and styles of images to help create my own magazine. Developing into the magazine I learnt a lot about how to make it more like a professional magazine, and that was by getting the perfect images taken, which suited my magazine style, also by adding the right amount of sell lines to the front cover, makes it look a whole lot more professional. For my contents page I made sure there was a lot of contents to read and I made sure their was page numbers so they know which page they want to go to, if they like that certain article. For my double page spread, I tried to take my research of a double page spread for NME magazine and create my own version of it, but make it look similar to my research ones. I did seem to manage my time well, I made sure that I had finished my front cover then move onto the DPS and then the contents page, I added the pictures near the end though as I hadn’t taken some of them at first. I think that my work was well planned, I knew the style of magazine that I wanted to create, and also since I had my research to looks back at and refer to, I worked from that I made it up as I went along.

Construction A lot has changed since my first prelim task, and it has improved for the better, the layout is so much better, the images are so more professional how their on plain backgrounds and there not stretched and the angle and close up of the image is better, it looks better to look at a close up image then it does a further away shot as the audience will feel more connected to the model as there looking straight at them. The text on both the front cover and contents page is whole lot better it looks a lot more professional and the way it’s set out, also the colour of the font is better as it stands out more and is more readable to the audience. I didn’t make a double page spread for my prelim task so I don’t have anything to compare it by, but by the looks of things I don’t think it would have been as professional looking as the one I made for my magazine, considering the other work for my prelim magazine wasn’t very professional. My Photoshop skills have improved massive amounts as you can tell from my prelim task to my magazine, the layout is so much better then my prelim and also the images are such a big improvement my skills have improved massively by using Photoshop, the more often I went onto it the more I got used to using all the different tools. I think that the models work a whole lot better on my real magazine as they look more professional and they link to the audience of the magazine which is Indie Kids, they’re positioned better, so they look more interesting to look at. The fonts are so much better on my magazine then they are on my prelim, they look more professional as I’ve only stuck to a certain amount, and haven’t changed the font loads on every page, which makes it look like a professional magazine.
