What is Tamperdata?

Tamperdata is; at http://tamperdata.mozdev.org/index.html Since it is an extension it is lightweight A way to document and measure issues with http based applications

Why use tamperdata?

tamperdata can be used for the following tasks;• It is originally intended for developers and programmers to test security• Identify why a page may take a long time to load• http application baselining and troubleshooting• Able to show images that was loaded• Show any http errors or coding issues

Accessing Tamperdata

After you install the extension, simply go to the Tools Menu in Firefox to access it

Using Tamperdata

To use Tamperdata is very straightforward;• Launch Tamperdata from the Tools menu• Go to a webpage• Done

Filtering Tamperdata results

• Some web pages may have a lot of data• The filter feature will help zero in on specific commands and responses• In this example I only wanted to see anything that had an espn reference

Request and Response Panes

• A real timesaver is to see the request and responses side by side with the application response time

• Knowing what cause an error return code sure helps

• The only option is use regularly is the Graph All option

• Please note that the browser options only work if a browser is already open. If no browser is open, it will not launch a browser for you.

Graph All results

• This is one of my favorite views

• It shows;• a timeline which is solid

for the duration of the command and response

• The response code so you can see is there was a problem

• If you leave your mouse over an entry, it will show more detail including the file size and if it’s a graphic, will show the graphic
