The problem

ClickDimensions allows users to set up form to post information directly into CRM. This is great when the fields can be mapped to Lead or Contact records, however if you want to use the captured information in automated business processes it becomes a little tricky.

We have had first hand experience of this where on a project we had to write plugin code to get the values from the Posted Field records.

A quick search around the ClickDimensions forums revels that this is a problem experienced by ClickDimensions customers.

The SolutionA CRM workflow and 2 ‘Process Genie’ formulas.

The CRM workflow runs automatically on create of a Posted Form record.

The first Process Genie formula creates a Case record with the values in the Posted Fields.

The second Process Genie formula moves any related attachments to the associated contact record.

It is significantly faster to write and make changes to a formula than writing custom code.
