• To improve understanding of Total Transport and the Total Transport Pilot Fund

• To raise awareness of the challenges facing transport providers and partners as a result of Total Transport

Total Transport

• Concept that has been around for a number of years

• Report in 2011 by pteg

• Pooling of resources over an area to improve service standards and improve efficiency

Total Transport Pilot Fund• Launched by Department for Transport in January

2015• Original pot of £4m – this grew to £7.6m because of

high demand• 36 Local Authorities successful in bidding• Awards ranging from £18k up to £750k• Targeted at rural and semi-rural areas

• Nottinghamshire part of National Total Transport Executive• Nationally, the main themes arising from the pilot projects

Health for Non-Emergency Patient Transport

• Use of technology, and new technologies, to enhance future delivery models

• Partnerships

• Focused on rural areas of Rushcliffe, Bassetlaw and Newark & Sherwood districts• Circa 75% of the area of

Nottinghamshire• Targeting improving

access to health, education and employment and reducing rural isolation

Areas of Focus

• Feasibility studies into enhancing integration with other public sector and third sector bodies providing passenger transport• Establishing a cross-organisational Transport

Solutions Service with a view to using it as a ‘Hub’ for commissioning transport• Review of technologies supporting passenger

transport and how they can be harnessed to improve integration

Expected Outcomes

• Improved efficiencies through sharing of transport resources• Single point of contact – easier for users to request

transport• Improved offer in areas of little or no public

transport provision• Reduced isolation for vulnerable individuals in rural
