1 • Installed on the same Middleware home of Enterprise Manager 12c
2 • Create a new BI repository database schema in the OEM 12c repository.
3 • Oracle BI Publisher Version 11.1.1.6 is certified with Cloud Control Version 12.1.0.2
4 • Software only installation
5 • Use the Oracle Middleware Home path that was created earlier during the EM installation.

1 • Take a backup of the OEM repository using RMAN or a data pump.
2
• Take a back up of Enterprise Manager Domain to avoid any unforeseen errors during the BI Publisher configuration.
3 • Execute the configureBIP script residing in the ORACLE_HOME/bin directory of the OMS instance.
4
• The script will ask for Sys (for the EM Repository database), Admin server, and node manager credentials (part of EM Weblogic Domain), which need to be entered.
5 • Log in to Enterprise Manager Cloud Control.
6 • On the Enterprise tab, select Reports from the drop-down menu
• Click on BI Publisher Enterprise Reports.

• Cloud Control 12.1.0.1.* required BIP 11.1.1.5.0
• Cloud Control 12.1.0.2.0 required BIP 11.1.1.6.0

Creating BI Publisher Reports Invoke BI Publisher from EM12c
• Log in to Enterprise Manager Cloud Control.
• Select Enterprise.
• Click on Reports.
• Click on BI Publisher Enterprise Reports.
• Click on BI Publisher Enterprise Reports Web Application.
• Enter the user ID and password in the appropriate boxes.
Create Folder to store Reports and grant roles
• Create a new folder named Test Reports under Shared Folder
• Click on Permissions and grant the required permissions to the various roles.

• Select EMREPOS as the Default Data Source.

• Click on the List of Values tab in the Data Model section.
• Select a Type of SQL
• Enter datasource as EMREPOS (which is created as a part of integration)

Data Model -> Query Builder
• Enter the SQL query, which can be entered by either clicking on the Query Builder button or
by pasting the exact query into the SQL Query section.
• After clicking on the Query Builder button, select the required view from the
left-hand pane and move it to the right-hand pane. In this example, the
MGMT$DB_DBINSTANCEINFO view is selected and moved to the right-hand pane.

Data Model -> Data Set
• Enter the data set Name, choose a Data Source of EMREPOS, and then click on the
Query Builder button and select relevant fields:
• Click on Results to see the data and also it proves the query works
• Click on Save.
• Click on XML to generate some test data that can be used during the report layout
design.

• Enter parameter details
• Select the INSTANCE_NAME and TARGET_GUID fields in the view, and then
click on Save.
Data Model -> Data Set
• Click on Data Sets, then click on Diagram, and then click on SQL Query.

• Enter the title of the report as Database Instance Extents Information.
• Drag-and-drop the INSTANCE_NAME and DBVERSION fields from the left-hand pane
to the layout.
• Then in the main layout, drag-and-drop the INITIAL_EXT_SIZE and NEXT_EXTENT
fields into the Drop Value Here section.
• Drag-and-drop the TABLESPACE_NAME field into the Drop Label Here section.

•. Enter the table title as Base Data, and drag-and-drop the
TABLESPACE_NAME, INITIAL_EXT_SIZE, and NEXT_EXTENT fields into the
Base Data section to get the raw or base data.
