→ publicly state that we are providing a harassment-free conference for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion.

● Intel® Software women sponsorship → financial support → remove barriers
Women developers from all over the world get the chance to apply for the sponsorship, which applies for attendees and speakers. The financial support includes reduced tickets and the refund for travel and accommodations cost, up to a maximum of 330 €.
INTERMEDIATE RESULTS
We set our goals high and hoped to have at least 25% a women speakers this year - as a first goal towards a 50% ratio.
After our first estimation, we are reaching a 17% ratio(more than three times compared to last years droidcon Berlin)
→ this motivates us for the future

OBSERVATIONS & LESSONS
● Finding the people who are into Android & building a network takes time
● But: it works!
● If we continue, it will improve every year
● Some people who are not underrepresented feel like we want to take away something from them (!?)
● Misunderstandings can happen
