Introduction to Mr. Allen

After college I started working on my PhD in physics, but I found I did not care much for research while loving teaching. Having taught both college classes and middle school classes, I knew high school was the ideal level for me. I became a physics

teacher (that’s the science building on the left) and a coach of volleyball, fencing, and tennis. I’m now in my fifteenth year at The Masters School.

I teach AP Physics C: Mechanics and two sections of Physics this year. In the spring I teach Electronics as well. I have taught Honors Physics, Astronomy, Honors Algebra I, and Geometry in the past as well.

After graduate school I continued training in ballroom dancing while teaching physics, eventually becoming the national champion in my primary discipline, American

smooth (waltz, tango, foxtrot, and Viennese waltz).
