• The Digital Merchandising mobile application, called ADMS on the phone, enables a

user to automatically capture P&G products in store.

• The application uses a simple process of photographing the store‟s fixture and uploading

the pictures to a back office where they can then be processed.

New Activity (automatic store selection)

To conserve battery life GPS has been disabled on your handset, when a new task is selected the

device will automatically search for the nearest store using GPS and produce a list for you to select

from. Because the GPS is disabled it‟s best to tap „Stop‟ and enter the store manually.

Activity selection and picture-taking (continued)

Once you‟ve selected the store and selected the task to be completed, you can start taking the pictures.

Pictures should adhere to the Digital Merchandising guidelines: front facing, in focus, at the correct

distance and with no obstacles in the way.

Horizontal

Device Orientation

Pictures should be taken horizontally, the device will let you take them vertically but they will not be accepted

by the back office. The device should be held the right way up to avoid the image being upside down.

Inclination of the device

Pictures need to be front facing, in focus, from the correct distance and with no obstacles. The application

shows spirit levels on the screen which go red if you are holding the device incorrectly. The application will

still allow you to take pictures when the phone is tilted/rotated, however these will not be accepted by the

back office.

Photographer Position

The best photos (and hence most accurate reporting results) are produced when the photographer is

positioned at a distance of 2-3 steps from the shelf to ensure the camera captures about 3 shelves in focus.

Obstacles

Pictures should be front facing, in focus, at the correct distance with no obstacles in the way.

Some shelves have clipstrips on them which obstruct what can be seen by the camera.

It is recommended that you slide the clip strip along when taking pictures so they do not stop the system

from recognising SKUs in the pictures sent.

NB: Do not remove

clipstrips, they must remain

on shelf.

If you do not have enough room to take 2-3 steps backwards and you cannot capture everything in one

photo, you should take multiple photos in this order trying to overlap them by approximately 20% :

IMPORTANT: Images must overlap and must be taken in the order shown above.

TIPS:

In general, for a 2m shelf,

you need 4 images.

To help overlap pictures,

select an image that stands

out as a marker

How do I review pictures before sending them?

In the summary screen touch “Options” and then “View Pictures”: the application will show the pictures

taken in that store. The photographs are arranged in the order in which they were taken.

Tap a photo to select it and press “Options” and then “View”.

Reviewing pictures

As well as viewing the pictures, the Activity Summary „Options‟ allows you to retake or delete pictures.

When you have made sure all the pictures adhere to Digital Merchandising guidelines, they are ready to

be sent.

How do I delete a picture or retake the pictures before sending them?

On the “Pictures Taken” option, touch the photo you want to delete or take again, then press “Options”

tap “Retake” to take the picture again, tap the “Delete” to remove it.

How can I add new photos before I send them?

On the summary screen, tap the “Options” and select “Add New Pictures” The application then returns to

the screen and the camera will take new pictures. To end and return to the list, press “Finish” in the

screen shot.

To end the activity: In the „History‟ option you should check the status of the pictures you have sent.

Below each picture there is a colored square used to indicate the sending status of each image. To

successfully end the activity all picture statuses should be green.

How can I review the pictures I have already sent?

In the main menu, select “History”. You can search for activities by date, and store name and activity.

After selecting the desired task the photos are displayed . If you want the photo full screen simply tap

on the one you need.

What action should I take if my pictures do not have a green status?

The colored square indicates the sending status of each image. You should gain a green status for all

pictures to complete the activity successfully.

whether a photo has

been sent or not.

The picture has failed to send. The

application will try and resend this picture

every hour, if after 5 hours this picture

has still not sent, contact the Digital

Merchandising team immediately.

Alternatively, to force the picture to

resend: open ‘History’ from the Main

Menu, a warning will appear and it will

ask the user whether or not to resend the

unsent items, select ok.

Sent action: Check all other picture

statuses.

Pending action: The picture is in the

progress of sending, check the signal of

the phone and wait for it to turn green. If

status is amber for more than 5 hours,

escalate this to the Digital

Merchandising team.

How do I enter the PIN code?

When you turn the phone on, it may prompt you for a pin. You need to remember this number as every

time you switch your off then on, the pin will need to be entered.

The ADMS Mobile Application has been updated to version 1.0.10.9. The following changes have been made to the

Camera Preview screen:

horizontal lines”

button that overlays 5

horizontal lines on the

camera preview. Tap to

style in “Retake picture”

functionality).

Camera preview now shows exactly what will

be captured in the picture while before it was

cropping some of the top and bottom parts of

the picture.

Phone status bar has been hidden to

increase the space available on the

Mobile application update v.1.0.10.9 (1/2)

Added alert dialog

when deleting pictures.

As suggested an alert dialog has been added and it‟s shown whenever the user deletes a picture.
