How to Rotate iPhone Apps on an iPad

Using your Apple iPad, you can turn the display, and see your apps quickly and seamlessly rotate from portrait to landscape mode. Many games and applications use the iPad's rotation feature to utilize to the fullest the iPad's high resolution screen. Luckily, many iPhone apps that you transfer to your iPad can also rotate when you turn the iPad in your hands.

#1Unlock the iPad screen rotation switch by pushing the switch up toward the top of your iPad. The switch is located on the top-right corner of the iPad next to the volume control. If the switch does not display a red dot showing that it is locked, the iPad display is set to rotate.

Open your iPhone app by tapping the app icon. The iPad opens your iPhone application.

#3Hold the iPad firmly and both hands and rotate it from portrait to landscape mode. The iPad rotates the iPhone app. If the iPhone app does not rotate, reboot your iPad by holding down the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until "Slide to Power Off" appears, then slide on the screen to turn off the iPad. Press the Sleep/Wake button to turn-on the iPad, then try again to rotate the iPhone app.

If the iPhone app still does not rotate after a reboot, the developer may not have enabled rotation wheng the application was created. Contact the developer through the Apple App Store and request that it add the rotation functionality in their next release. App developers take user comments seriously, so there is a good chance that the developer will consider adding rotation functionality in the next update.
