What is North Carolina?

• Next major release of Novell ZENworks…most likely version 12

• Likely to be available in 12-15 months

• What are the major release goals?

– Address key customer enhancements and quality concerns

– Deliver a fully integrated mobile management

– Reinvest in Asset Management

• This release is not fully interlocked and as such features and dates discussed here are subject to change


Integrated Mobile Management

• “North Carolina” will include integrated management capabilities for Android and iOS

– Windows Phone 8 will not make the initial integrated release

• Will be fully integrated with the existing architecture

– Same console, same servers, same management paradigm

• Looking at the following capabilities

– ActiveSync Proxy

– Policies for enforcing security / configuration

– Samsung SAFE/KNOX support

– Ability to distribute resources to devices (VPN, Wifi, Certs, etc)

– Ability to enforce compliance via compliance policies for items not controllable via policy
