Ultrasonic Solution We are pleased to confirm that both the WindObserver and the WindMaster/WindMasterPro have met the MEASNET requirements for “linearity” and we can provide example certificates (attached). As MEASNET requires an individual certificate for each sensor we can assist with providing these via SOH in Denmark, SOH in the USA or DWG in Germany. Further Work for MEASNET During 2016 the MEASNET requirements will change to include ultrasonic for 2D measurement and a requirement to provide the vertical component. Gill will have WindSonic, WindObserver and WindMaster/WindMasterPro tested to provide a classification as soon as possible. About MEASNET MEASNET is a co-operation of companies which are engaged in the field of wind energy and want to ensure high quality measurements, uniform interpretation of standards and interchangeability of results. The members established an organizational structure for MEASNET and perform mutual and periodical quality assessments for their harmonized measurements and evaluations. The highest tier is the Council of Members. An Executive Board, composed of three representatives from different members executes the tasks delegated by the Council of Members. Several Expert Groups, specializing in certain measurement tasks, advise and support the Executive Board and the Council of Members on the definition of the measurement procedures. Assessment Teams are established to perform assessments for the admission of new members and for the periodical quality confirmations of MEASNET members. All MEASNET members must be accredited by ISO/IEC 17025 for the MEASNET approved measurements.

MEASNET certification has always been required for instrumentation used at wind turbine sites where the data is being used by the financial institutions that are backing the site. However, only cup anemometers are currently classified under MEASNET. These cups have under gone the extensive proving process to obtain a classification and then each individual cup has a “linearity” check under MEASNET before and after installation. However, there are shortfalls with cups as they are a mechanical sensor and so the market is moving to include ultrasonic sensors so that the advantages of no maintenance and increased robustness can be used.
