Food ColouringEditing

What happened?

During our extremely fast paced song, there is a section where the music slows down dramatically and singing takes places, me and my group decided a change would be appropriate here; as throwing powder paint is too fast and vibrant for this section, therefore we decided to implement our food colouring video.

Continued

This linked our music video to our other media products and was very successful as it kept the colourful dance theme and managed to reduce the pace.

Process 1

After importing the food colouring video we then had to adjust it, first of all we zoomed in on the video so the bowl could not be seen and only the food colouring was displayed.

We did this through the effects editor. By right clicking on the video and going into the effects editor we were able to change the size and position of the video as seen on the next slide.

Zoom

By changing the size and position of the video we wereable to zoom in and only display the food colouring.

We also had to use the cropping option to crop and re addthe black margins in the video shown at the top and bottom .

Process 2

After zooming in onto the food colouring we slowed down the video to match the pace of the song, we did this through the speed option.

Speed bar

We were able to reduce the speed of the video using the speed bar.

We also used the reverse option within some cuts of the video this gave a very “unreal” effectwhich can be related with many dance music videos. This was also done through many other aspectsof the music video.

Splitting

We also split the food colouring scene and re arranged it to produce a better effect speeding up the end as the song builds back up.
