Facts about Satellite communication

A communications satellite or Comsat is an artificial satellite sent to space for the drive of broadcastings. Modern communications satellites use a variety of orbits including geostationary trajectories, Molniya orbits, elliptical trajectories and low (polar and non-polar) Earth trajectories.

For fixed (point-to-point) services, communications satellites make available a microwave radio relay technology balancing to that of communication cables. They are also used for mobile applications such as send and receive signals to ships, planes, vehicles, and hand-held terminals, and for TV and radio broadcasting.

In the process of satellite communication process user send the information or signal to the satellite with help of earth station transmitter to satellite in the form of modulated microwave beam. Then Satellite receives this modulated microwave beam and apply process of amplifying process of signal. Satellites make it ready to send the signal to send back on earth to receiver’s antenna. The signal send by the transmitter’s antenna from earth surface to Satellite is called uplink and the signal receiver’s antenna is called down link.

Satellites which are mostly used in satellite connections are Active and passive satellites. Active satellites amplify the microwave signals coming from the transmitter receive rand also known as transponders. After applying amplifying process send back signal to receiver‘s antenna. Sometime this process completed on the same time or may be hindered also satellites also have programming and recording structures also.

Passive satellites: It is just a plastic expanded round shaped like balloon having a metal coated over it. The balloon sphere reflects the coming microwave signals coming from one place of the earth to other place and also recognized as passive sphere generally. Our earth also has a passive satellite i.e. moon

And the advantage of satellite communication with satellite phone is that even you could stay connect in isolated area Satellite telephones are designed to link in isolated areas where telecommunications arrangement is limited or not available. Examples are mountains, isolated recreation areas, inter-oceanic flights, exposed water, rest houses, etc. They are also helpful in tragic situations where conventional communications structure were damaged like as the earthquakes in Chile 2010 were particularly useful aid and donations received by bodies.
