Asset Analytics and IOT on SAP HANA at Center Point Energy

HOUSTON & HANOVER — Accenture and SAP have been selected by CenterPoint Energy to design, test and implement an asset analytics solution that supports CenterPoint Energy’s strategy of integrating information technology (IT) with operational technology (OT).

This will help improve management and maintenance of its transmission and distribution assets.

SAP and Philips Team Up to Make Cities Smarter with SAP HANA

WALLDORF — SAP and Philips announced a collaboration that will link real-time information from Philips connected streetlights with data from other sensors in a single integrated city dashboard

The joint offering combines real-time situational awareness based on the SAP HANA platform with the Philips CityTouch street lighting management system to give planners a 360-degree view of data

91,000 streetlights with LEDs in Buenos Aires, controlled by CityTouch interfacing with SAP HANA platform.

CityTouch remote management system allows remote adjustment of lighting levels, dramatically reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.

Buenos Aires is able to manage 700,000 assets (streetlights, parks, bus stops, buildings & bridges).

By analyzing real-time sensor data, the city can monitor storm drains to mitigate risksh

As a result, Buenos Aires has been able to increase operational efficiency, realize energy savings of over 50 percent and greatly improve safety and quality of life for its 13 million residents.


T-Systems, SAP integrate connected car and logistics platforms in Internet of Things SAP and T-Systems announced a cooperation to develop a cloud-based Internet of Things platform for logistics.

Integrate SAP Connected Logistics software with T-Systems’ connected car solution, which will form the foundation of a cloud-based logistics networking platform.

The platform will stream traffic information picked up from a range of IoT sensors as well as services and applications relating to the ports, airports and parcel distribution centres directly to mobile devices.
