Energy saving plan

I.E.S Llanera energy consumption:

Waste management:

We will do a study based on three points:

- Electricity consumption.

- Water consumption.

- Gas Consumption.

- Recycling paper and cardboard.- Battery Recycling- Wood Recycling- Other

- This plan is based on the project, forming working groups and cooperate in teams.

Defining assumptions, project development will take place in the following steps:

First stage

Fourth stage

Second stage

First Stage:

Students will identify the environmental problems of the environment and collect information on energy consumption of the school, break it down in energy consumption and recycling of waste generated.

The first step is to identify information, so we will require computers with Internet access, cameras and also the collaboration of expertise in energy saving, recycling and environment.

Second stage:

At this stage of the project we will add more computer programs to make energy calculations, spreadsheets and word processors.

Preparation of a dossier containing all the information obtained by different groups, identifying those points which are susceptible of improvement and developing a plan intended to improve the problems identified. .

Third Stage:

We will present the project to improve community energy making Power Point presentations, brochures, photos, etc…

Fourth stage:

We will develop a model that shows the solutions in the improvement plan.

At this stage we will use the technology workshop and materials, machinery and other tools.

Advice for saving energy :

1.1It is not necessary for electronic devices are operational all the time, there are devices that  simply being connected to the current, they consuming energy. Even when turned off they will continue to use energy.

Advice for saving energy :2.2. SAVING OF LIGHT:SAVING OF LIGHT:

2.1 Whenever possible, take advantage of the sun lighting because is natural,free and environmentally friendly

2.2 Use bright colors on walls and ceilings, and you will make better use of natural lighting .

2.3 Do not leave lights on in empty rooms.

2.4 Use compact fluorescent bulbs in places that require more light instead of high energy using light bulbs.

3.1 If needed, install new taps which are more efficiant: Single handed type handles.

3.2 If you put solar heating panals they will reduice 60% of the tradicional costs and more energy will be saved heating the water.

4.1 The production of paper, carton, glass and metals requires alot of energy. The seperation of these materials saves a significant amount of energy. 4.2 Reduce the majority ofour

generations waste by changing our habits:

• Avoid using excessively packaged goods.

4.3 Use rechargable batteries.

5.1 Open the curtains to allow maximum amount of light and heat depending on the seasons.

5.2 Revise the buildings insulation.

5.3 Change the thermostat to the most comfortable temperature for the class.

5.4 If there are single glazed windows in the building, consider the possiblity to replace them with double glazed windows, they are more energy efficiant.
