Energy Savings - Vernacular & Modern Elements 1) EE: Malkafs, Thisana’s, Mashrabia, Solar spaces – 72% E-saving, EE- Appliances,

Savings: 72% , Payback: 8 years

2) RE: PV Systems, Wind turbine

Savings: 85% , Payback: 11 years

ISR 1e Phase Pilot Project

Conclusions:1) Traditional vernacular & modern passive measures save 72%

energy compared to a conventional building. These measures are cost-efficient therefore: “replicable”

2) Renewable energy systems a “Zero-Energy-Building” is possible.
