DESCRIPTION
The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, Government of India, organized the 2nd 'District Collectors Conference', which took place on the 6th & 7th of September in New Delhi. Over 30 district collectors participated, making presentations on best practices to overcome challenges faced in the sectors of rural development, education, urban development, law & order, and disaster management. The Planning Commission is providing these presentations for the public to see examples of the good work being done by young IAS officers in the field, and to promote cross-learning and innovation.

Facilitation of services for prevention of disasters and designing efficient management plans in times of disasters

For each of the selected dam, one can view the respective affected villages for the amount of water being discharged
It classifies the areas as; needing immediate evacuation, ready for evacuation and villages on alert
Indicates river flow through the whole of district
The application offers a range of tools which provide features like zooming the desired location, labelling if required and printing the map.

The DARMAT Home page provides navigations forDAM Site- includes the boundaries of the Corporation and ward, Polling booth
Revenue Administration - include boundaries of the District, Nagarpalika, Ward.
DAM Site:This page displays the District map of Gujarat state.
On selecting any District(i.e Rajkot here) from dropdown list of District you will get Dam locations of that district.You can also navigate from map area by clicking on any District.
On selecting any dam from dropdown list of Dam site you will get location of Dam.You can also navigate from map area by clicking on any Dam.
On selecting any discharge from dropdown list of Discharge site you will get affected villages of that dam.
Revenue Administration:
This page displays the District map of Gujarat state.

Mobile alert system for help in broadcasting speedy messages during the time of flood
Access to all the dam in-charges who are given android phones with this application installed
Extensive database with information about the dams and associated villages
Information about the areas that will be affected at the time when a particular amount of water will be discharged from the gates of a particular dam

One can select the dam and the amount of water to be discharged through the gates
A database is maintained where one can check the villages that would be affected and need an alert
An alert message can be sent to some selected officials of the villages in danger with 30 seconds through an internet gateway
Selected village personnel can be sarpanch, aaganwadi workers, paramedical staff, school principal etc.
Message will also be received by that other officials like collector of the district, additional collector, revenue commissioner etc.
