Double Share** - $1025We do offer a double farm share at a substantially reduced cost for those who have a need for

a greater volume of food. This share is appropriate for families of 4-5, or perhaps smallerfamilies who are dedicated to eating from the farm. It is also a great option for small office or

work communities with several individuals interested in trying the CSA model.

. The retail value of the Single Share is $927 with an average weekly cost of $42.00. A farm share is $28. That is a savings of 33Y'.

The retail value of the Double Share is $ 1,816 with an average weekly cost of $86.00. A double is $46. That is a savings of M%".

Storage Snare

In addition to offering weekly vegetable shares, we do offer storage volumes for those individualsand families who are interested in continuing to eat from the farm into the winter months. If you

are interested in volumes of onions, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, beets, celeriac or wintersquash, contact us later in the season. We will try to give a reminder as the storage volumes begin

to develop.

Because you will be taking these vegetables home in bulk, please feel free to ask us any questionsyou may have about storing these volumes. These crops do need a relatively constant and

cool temperature, but even a space as simple as a basement will typically suffice.

What is CSA?

Fledging crow is a small organic vegetable farm located near Keeseville, Ny,fifteen minutes south of Plattsburgh. At Fledging Crow, we work in partnershipwith Manzini Farm to focus on the production of vibrant and nouristring food,

the rejuvenation of soils, and growth with the spirit of the land.This membership application will help you understand what a FledgingCrow Farmshare is and how to enroll for the 20l l season. Please read

Community Supported Agriculture is a growing relationship between farmers and communitymembers. At Fledgfurg Crow, we offer the opportunity to bridge the distance between you and yourfood source. There is a growing awareness of the shortcomings of what has become the "standard"of food and agriculture in this country, and the CSA model provides an alternate option for thosewho wish to try something else. The CSA program offers the farmers the resources to needed to startthe season and the members with a stable, fresh source of local food for the growing season.

How does this CSA work?. The 2011 vegetable season will run from the l't Thursday in June (June 2$ until the 3'd Thursday in

October (October 20ft), which covers 21 weeks of the year. For those interested in eating locally fora greater part of the year, we also offer storage volumes to get you through some of the winter.

o Members are asked to pick up their share every Thursday at one of the five pickup locations. If youare unable to pickup your share for some reason, feel free to send a friend or family member. Noprior notification is needed. We are excited to meet new people

o Each week you are provided with a bushel crate (sometimes 2 or 3, depending on the share volumeyou have chosen) filled with your share of the week's harvest. Bushel crates are to be retumed thefollowing week to be filled again with your share.

o An initial deposit of $300 is required to ensure your spot in the 2011 season. This deposit will thenbe deducted from your total share cost. The remaining balance on your share can be paid any timebefore March 31't, 2011. If you are unable to pay the fulIbalance by that time, we are certainlywilling to work out a payment plan over the course of next year. We will figure it out. If money is amajor hurdle or a share seems like too much food, it may be a good idea to split a share with a friendor neighbor.

o Please read through the reverse side of this application for a monthly projection of the 2011 share.Please fill out and mail in the attached form as soon as possible so we can organize the upcomingyear's CSA accordingly. Space is limited. Once we receive your paperwork, we will contact you toclarifu any questions you may have.


EUROOPASSA• Ranskassa kuluttajavetoiset AMAP - yhdistykset pyörittävät

toimintaa. Yhdistyksillä on myös kattojärjestö.

• AMAP on myös brändi ja ideologia: ajatus solidaarisuudesta viljelijöiden ja kuluttajien välillä.

• AMAP - tuotteet ovat aina luomua.

• Yhdistyksiä on tuhansia, esimerkiksi Pariisin alueella 140.

• Etelä - Euroopassa tuottajat ovat muodostaneet kollektiiveja, joiden puitteissa kumppanuusmaatalous toimii.

HERTTONIEMEN RUOKAOSUUSKUNTA

Suomen ensimmäinen CSA - hanke


• Idea syntyi joulukuussa, osuuskunta perustettiin maaliskuussa

• 115 jäsentä, hallituksessa 8

• Puutarhuriksi palkattiin Susanna Lagström, harjoittelija Antti

• Jäsenet osuuskuntaan kerättiin Herttoniemen ruokapiiristä, facebookista ja viidakkorummulla

• Jäseneksi pääsi maksamalla osuuskunnan jäsenmaksun 70 euroa ja sen jälkeen satomaksun 350/550 euroa.



• Pelto löytyi toukokuussa, pitkällisen etsimisen jälkeen

• Peltoa on 1,3ha Vantaan Korsossa

• Pellolla kasvaa perusjuureksia, perunaa ja sipulia, ja myös esim. maissia, pinaattia ja härkäpapua

• Talkoilemme kerran viikossa, tiistai - iltaisin. Tällä hetkellä kitkemistä on paljon!





BUDJETTI• Hankkeen kokonaisbudjetti on noin 50 000 euroa, josta suurin

osa menee puutarhurin palkkaan.

•Osuuskunnan taloudesta huolehtii ammattimainen kirjanpitäjä.

• Yllättäviinkin kuluihin on varauduttu!

• Kylmävarasto (16m2) on vuokrattu Tukkutorin tiloista Helsingissä talvikuukausien ajaksi.

• Kasvihuone olisi seuraava tärkeä investointi osuuskunnalle

•Nykyään myös Herttoniemen ruokapiiri on osana osuuskuntaa


SADON JAKAMINEN• Tuleva sato tuodaan kerran viikossa Herttoniemeen

• Kuljetuksen hoitaa kuljetusfirma

• Jakopisteenä osuuskuntalaisen autotalli

•Osuuskuntalaiset osallistuvat 2 - 3 kerrallaan sadonjaon organisointiin.

• Sadosta tehdään etukäteen googledocsiin taulukko, jonka avulla puutarhuri näkee, paljonko mitäkin tuotetta tuodaan.

• Sato jaetaan periaatteessa tasan, tosin ison osuuden ostaneet saavat enemmän.
