4This iconic temple is one of the 12 jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva.

It was attacked by Mohammed of Ghazni in 1025 AD, killing over 50,000 people who came to defend it.

He then smashed the solid gold linga into pieces which were taken back and embedded in the steps leading to the mosque in the town of Ghazni.

As a symbol of resilience, this temple stands today after being destroyed and rebuilt 6 times.
