BOARD MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES
• Meetings attended – – City Council – COSADC– Development Review Committee– Hotel Association– Economic Development Council– San Angelo CVB & Annual CVB Tourism Luncheon– TIRZ Board– Link 2 Business Committee– Downtown Development Commission
– Business Resource Center– West Texas Legislative Summit– CVCOG Planning Commission– Strategic Planning Steering Committee
• Downtown San Angelo and City of San Angelo hosted the 2nd Annual Patriots’ Parade in July
• DSA President, Brenda Gunter and Executive Director organized meetings between CW Fields and Community/Economic Development partners to discuss Downtown housing development and the potential use of the Roosevelt Hotel
• Executive Director met with Pamela Miller, SACVB and Margaret Hoogstra, Director Texas Forts Trail to plan for December 1-2 Texas Heritage Trails/ Texas Historical Commission meeting in San Angelo
• DSA staff collaborated with John Duggan, Vice-president of Marketing & Recruitment/SA Chamber of Commerce to host the December 1 -2 meeting of the Texas Small Business Industrial Development Corporation Board in San Angelo
• DSA staff began development of the new Downtown Shopping brochure
• Mustang Sally Opened for business at Concho Crossing in July• Construction and remodel began in the 3rd Quarter for
Downtown’s first Brew Pub located at Concho Crossing• DSA Board President Gunter, Executive Director and DSA
Board member Brandon Sanders met with CW Fields during a return visit to San Angelo to discuss other potential housing development properties, as structural challenges were discovered with the Roosevelt Hotel
• DSA Staff continues to work with Dr. Timothy Hopkins regarding the 30 West Beauregard housing development and other potential property developments
• DSA staff continues to work with individuals exploring options for retail space, as well as business owners considering expansion
• Downtown presentations were given during – Mall Walkers July Breakfast meeting– August ASU Annual Faculty Orientation Luncheon
• DSA partnered with Suddenlink to sponsor and produce the September Wooly Bully activities in Downtown
• DSA partnered with TIRZ to purchase 30 trash receptacles for the Downtown area
• The Historic Downtown Walking Tour Brochure was completed and sent to press. Anticipated publish date is December 2011
• DSA President Brenda Gunter and Executive Director met with City Manager Harold Dominguez and City Planning Director, A J Fawver to discuss Downtown Strategic/Master Plan for presentation to the Downtown Development Commission
• DSA sponsored and participated in the 13th Annual Women’s Business Roundtable Event– Executive Director served as the facilitator for the
Breakout Session – Doing Business Downtown
• Pocket Park development continues
