Plants and flowers are a very important aspect on Chinese New Years.
Many plants represent different things such as wealth and long life associated in the new year. 💰
The Pussy Willow
In Chinese, pussy willow is yin chun
The name Ying chun( 迎春 ) means new spring, which symbolize a new beginning, just like NewYears
The pussy willow is one of the most most important plants to have on Chinese New Years
Street Decorations
On Chinese New Year, the streets are decorated full of lanterns, lights, fire crackers, and people!
The most common street decoration is lanterns.
People in the community decorate the street a few days before New Years.

Lanterns are the most common street decoration on Chinese New Years.
The lanterns come in all different shapes and sizes.
The most common lantern is the round lantern.
Couplet
Couplets are a traditional way to help children learn how to write Chinese.
They usually have two parts. The first part goes on the right, and the second part goes on the left.
In chinese new year's couplets, it has an extra section on the top as you can see in the picture.
Couplets have messages of good fortune and blessings for the New Year.
New Years Colors
The colors that are used during the new year are red and gold.
Red and gold are used because red symbolizes happiness and gold symbolizes wealth
