TITLE: CHEMISTRY 101

We chose this title as it relates to the setting of the Middle School,

and the Heroes’ love of science. As it is set in America, we used the

format of their lesson titles, but it also isn’t very specific, so it will

leave an air of mystery around the film.

PLOT

Henry is being beaten up by a group of jocks, including Andrew, then rolled down a hill in a bin. The

group of friends get together that evening and fantasize about stopping the jocks and becoming popular.

Next day in AP Chemistry they conduct an experiment on reactive metals. James drops a vial and the

entire experiment fizzes. Some residue lands on each of them. In gym, Harry sets fire to a piece of

equipment. The group discuss this and try harnessing powers. They plot pranks in everyone that beat

them up, using their powers. One jock, Andrew, gets jealous and tries to blackmail them, and beat them

up. Pattern of losing status and trying to climb the social ladder again. Andrew finds a way to Harness

powers too, using a failed experiment using HCL and metals. Ends in a massive fight scene, with little to

no gore, no aliases, in the school playground, with Andrew defeated. Jess and Harry, and James and

Emma are dating by the end credits.

HOW ARE YOU DEM ONSTRATING

CONVENTIONS WITH THE GENRE?

As it is an action movie there will be some fight scenes, starting in the opening

sequence when Henry, the smallest one in the group, is getting beaten up so that

audience will be jumped into the action and will be absorbed in the film from start

to finish. There will also be many more interesting scenes as the group discover

their powers. There will also be relationship building between some of the

characters, while the all the action is taking place. This makes it link into the genre

perfectly as most action films have some romance to increase the depth of the film.

There will be lots of action in this film making it fit into the action category and

making it enjoy able by the young age group.
