Screenwriter- Simon beaufoy wrote Slumdog Millionairebased on the novel Q & A by „Vikas Swarup‟

* In summer of 2006, British production companies Celador Films and Film4 Productions invited director Danny Boyle to read the script of Slumdog Millionaire

*Boyle wasn‟t happy at first since he was not interested in making a film about Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, however he agreed after finding out that the script writer was one of his favourite

In September 2007 the film makers went to India-Mumbai with the crew to find casts

Simon came up with the new title of “Slumdog Millionaire”

Problems they came across:

The producers had difficulties on how they had to

jump from the police interrogation scene and go back to the normal millionaire program to recap on how „Jamal‟ the main character of the film had got the answer correct.

* In August 2007 Warner Independent Pictures acquired the North American rights and Pathé the

international rights to distribute Slumdog Millionaire theatrically.

* In may 2008 the warner independent pictures was shut down with all of its projects being transferred

to Warner Bros.

* Warner Bros thought the commercial prospects of Slumdog Millionaire and suggested that it would go

straight to DVD without in showing in cinemas

* In August 2008, the studio began searching for buyers for various productions, to relieve its overload of

end-of-the-year films.

* Halfway through the month, Warner Bros entered into a deal with Fox Searchlight Pictures to share

distribution of the film, with Fox Searchlight buying 50% of Warner Bros's interest in the movie and

handling U.S. distribution.

Odeon and vue, it was also exhibited in art

houses of fashion which entertained and

attracted the audience.

* The release of the film showing in cinemas

made the film more well known and increased

on audiences as it was showing everywhere

which made the film more popular.
