My name is Kimberly Bush I started school in 1980 in Los Angeles I graduated from high school in 1996 in

Kailua at Kalaheo High School. I first went to college at KCC in 1996 When I finish my degree, I am either

going to stay at the Irish Rose Saloon, or I will be a full time special education teacher.

Educational technology is teaching children how to utilize all types of technology to assist them in their academic journey, and remaining open to the changes that occur within technology.

There were computers, but I never used one. But we did have video games (colecovision). They did not assist learning.

Do calculator watches count? I remember using records that read

stories to you as you followed along.

In the 90’s many people had computers, but I didn’t.

Keyboarding classes were still conducted on typewriters.

We utilized different forms of media: books, audio, and film.

First time around, I was still using a word processor.

I didn’t have a personal computer until I was 24. (7 years a go.)

Everything had changed my second time around.

Internet use was my main resource for information. (I liked the computer was a resource to find resources.)

Option of handing in work on line? Huhh?

A lot of the text was offered on web CT along with the syllabus, assignments, discussions, etc.

On line work books, foreign language labs, and supplemental work.

•Everything can be saved and reviewed at the end of the day.•Each student can have a file with all the work they have done on it.•Can give computer lessons to the entire class before having them use them individually.

I can’t lie, I am somewhat of a traditionalist, but I am enjoying learning about innovative ways to assist learning in the classroom.

I can say that I hope we never stop accepting change.

I hope technology is able to bring the world closer together.
