Key objectives of new service development
1. Accelerate international business development through professionalization of this activity and proper marketing tools application of START UPS.
2. Personal and professional capacitation of GRADUATES from business studies for international business development activities in a context of start-ups.
3. Evaluate the feasibility of new service creation for start up international business development at TECMINHO.

• 2 University of Minho spin offs• Call for part-time unpaid internships and selection of 2
graduates• 10% internationalization project manager dedication to the
pilot project

What we’ve learned with the pilot project?
• Make pre-diagnostics of start ups internationalization potential, evaluate product/service innovation level, quality and value propositions.
• Define clear and verifiable metrics of project success with the start up.
• Rigorous intern recruitment process with TecMinho and start up representatives on the panel.
• Paid internship of minimum 9 months duration.
How we’ll implement the service?
• Competition for start ups to qualify for License to Export • 7-10 start up pre-selection• 1 day workshop of BMC and VP design with a pitch• 2-3 start up selection for service implementation• Contractual agreement with the start up with measurable
objectives and service fee definition• Call for paid internships and intern selection• Implementation of the service by intern mentored by
experienced international business developer • Final results evaluation 6 months after conclusion of service
delivery
