Each card contains either a
CHALLENGE – issue in CRM
SOLUTION – tip to overcome the issue
Walk around the room to find the challenge to your solution or the
solution to your challenge.

TIP #1: N:N Relationships and Advanced Find
Challenge: Advanced find doesn’t show N:N relationship
Solution: Go to customizations for the N:N relationship and select Display
Option = Use Plural Name on both entities

TIP #2: Advanced Find Clean Up
Challenge: Too many attributes for an entity in an advanced find.
Solution: Open the field customization and select Searchable = No

TIP #3: Searching for records that do not contain related record
Challenge: How to find all contacts that don’t have any associated
activities?
Solution:
1. Create a marketing list for all records
2. Click remove records and follow the wizard
3. Use advanced find to find all records associated with that marketing list

TIP #4: Customize Lookup Views
Challenge: How to select which fields show in the quick lookup view?
Solution:
CRM uses the first 3 columns of the record’s lookup view (in order). First
column on top, 2nd on the bottom left and 3rd on bottom right.

TIP #5: Specify Filters on Views
Challenge:
Quickly update filters for a view.
Solution:
1. Navigate to the view
2. Click the filter button in the upper right hand corner and filter the view as
desired.
3. Click the more options
button
4. Click “Save Filters to
Current System View”

TIP #6: Business Rules on Quick Create Form
Challenge:
Use business rules on quick create forms.
Solution:
Create a business rule for All Forms and as long as all the fields referenced
in the business rule are in the form, the business rule will execute.

TIP #7: Network Statistics
Challenge:
The system is having some performance issues. Need to determine if it’s the
network or the application.
Solution:
Go to https://[YOUR CRM URL]/tools/diagnostics/diag.aspxto get network statistics:
Satisfactory latency is 150 ms or less

TIP #8: Troubleshoot Form Performance
Challenge:
Form loads slowly. Need to determine what customization is causing the
issue.
Solution:
Go to a form. Press
Ctrl+Shift+Q
to show the CRM
Performance Centre

TIP #9: Multi-Enviro Compatibility
Challenge:
Reduce effort in mapping user and currency records when deploying from
one environment to another.
Solution:
Ensure system users used in workflows have the same full name
Dynamics 365/CRM 2016 automatically resolves system user and currency entity records based on the full name property.

TIP #10: Re-assign all records that belong to a userChallenge:
Re-assign all records that belong to a user.
Solution:
Open the system user
record and click on the
Reassign Records button.

TIP #11: Change the number of records available in viewsChallenge:
Change the maximum number of records available in a view to 250.
Solution:
Open user preferences in the
top right and change the value
in Records Per Page dropdown to 250.

Challenge:
Change entities used in global search.
Solution:
Navigate to system settings and click
on set up quick find. Click select
entities to search and configure up to
10 entities.
Also make sure the columns are
selected in the quick find view.

Solution:
Make the field searchable.

Challenge:
Quickly modify the sitemap.
Solution:
Use the new Dynamics 365
sitemap editor by double
clicking on the sitemap in the
customizations.

TIP #16: Set field with a workflow
Challenge:
Field is greyed out in workflow even though its not read only
on the form.
Solution:
The field is on the form multiple times. Edit the first instance.
